Yes, Virginia, there really is a wicked witch...and they call her Shirley Nagel

This woman takes the cake...or keeps the candy. Talk about wicked and just plain mean and nasty. The following story was on the local news tonight. It's about a woman ( I prefer the term wicked witch) in Grosse Pointe Farms MI, named Shirley Nagel. She asked the children who they were voting for (as if a 6 year old can vote) and then refused to give them candy unless they answered the way she wanted them to. Um, isn't a democracy based on being able to vote the way you want without there being repercussions for that? Hm, I bet she wishes she could hold a gun to every ones head when they go to vote.

Mich. woman: Supporting Obama? No treats for you

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, MI (AP) - A suburban Detroit woman has decided to scare up the vote among neighborhood children by just offering treats to John McCain supporters.

Shirley Nagel of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., handed out candy on Halloween only to those who shared her support for the Republican presidential candidate and his running mate Sarah Palin. Others were turned away empty-handed.

A Detroit TV station (WJBK) says a sign outside Nagel's house warned: "No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters."

Nagel calls Democrat Barack Obama "scary." When asked about children who were turned away empty-handed and crying, she said: "Oh well. Everybody has a choice."

I mean, I fully support people being able to have their own opinions. But this is ridiculous. Grow up and behave like an adult. Halloween is a holiday for kids, it has absolutely nothing to do with politics. This woman had no right to ruin it for some kids just because their (or their parents) opinion is different than hers. Consider that this is probably the first taste of politics and the process for some children. I wonder how this woman feels about the impression she gave those kids of the republican party.

I haven't talked about politics on here. Believe me I have some pretty strong feelings about it. However, I think this has more to do with innocent children and a severely unbalanced woman than anything else. So yes, Virginia, there really is a wicked witch and she lives in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI.

(((Pssst))) Secretly...I hope someone went back and TeePee'd her house.

Just my humble opinion.

If you want to see the Michigan news station report on this it is posted at youtube...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c75OtUlWC0. The woman really looks like a witch too! Seriously. Scary looking.

I hope they did all the yuck things they do on Halloween to this woman's house. Burning poo on her doorstep, TP the house, Egged her car. She deserves it all. You don't take a children's holiday and push your beliefs on them. McCain supporters have shown themselves to be low down and dirty. Makes you seriously wonder about him and Palin, getting this kind of support. (Hugs)Indigo

I came over to read this after a tip from Indigo. She's right, I did find it interesting!

What a horrid woman. (NOT Indigo!) To be so extreme in your hatred of another candidate that you would go to these lengths is just unconscionable. I suspect she's going to be getting some very unwanted attention in the coming days, and although I'm not a vindictive person, I'd say that she deserves every bit of misery that she gets. Shame on her!!
